Honestly, doujins and fanfiction show what is possible when we get rid of copyright. like, these big ass companies just want to continue collecting rent based on the wage labor of their artists/mangakas etc. When you actually ask most creators, their biggest fear of derivative content is actually from big corporations stealing their hard work and the original creators not being able to make enough of of their work to survive. That's it. Which means in a society that ensures everyone has enough to live, we'd be able to divorce creation from the profit-motive and everyone would be able to make as much NaruSasu as they want.
