This is pretty common. I used to watch a show called American Greed on CNBC, and what blew me away is how many officers would show up to arrest these people. There would be like 90 dudes just to arrest one wall street dickhead, it's crazy.

does the police have participation ribbons like the military does where if you show up, no matter how fuck all you do, you get some kinda thing on your uniform or résumé?

offensive ratio of 340 boots to 1 enemy

Straight up sending a full battalion to deal with one guy. Like, it would be one thing if those guys were all tapped to like, guard or something but no, seek and destroy. I'm surprised this didn't happen in the states first tbh.

it's how you create a panic, also with how many cops were there it just seems like a straight up bad idea if there was actually something else going on. If someone was planning on doing a heist or something major, this type of thing could be a massive distraction actually

I'd bet it's not 300+ guys searching a few blocks for him -- those guys are probably spread out through a whole city, or at least a big part of it.

this shit is like when they found out some dude in my old city was selling a lot of weed and like 10 squad cars and the APC the city bought off the army showed up at a motel 6 to bust him. obviously this one is a bit more serious but uh, same reaction at least

I don't think it's like that at all. The weed guy shouldn't even be criminalized, and even if he's some off the rails dangerous dealer you don't need to send the whole police force after him. But an armed, trained soldier who plans to go on a shooting spree? You know what, maybe call in some extra dudes on this one.

no im not saying weed dude should be criminalized at all. what im saying is in suburbia you got hella cops ready to bust down on doors for the most minor fucking thing in town. like, they bought a fuckin APC, now they have to figure out how to justify it
