My 89 year old father-in-law has been an unrepentant Stalinist since his teens. Lots of comrades were pretty bummed out by the "secret" speech that, in their view, undermined the very real achievements of the Soviet Union, and marked its long slide backwards to where it lies in ruins today, looted by oligarchs, encircled by NATO, economically reduced to its former "third world" status.

and why do they sometimes imagine Stalin to be a queer trans person of colour?

:agony-shivering: ok this can’t be real

The greek dude who says “the problem in capitalistic society is not an economic one” :agony-minion:

Pretty sure the narrator says “protalitarian revolution” at one point, don’t know if he misspoke or if that’s some radlib own that I’m too tankie to understand.

I like how he scrap books together some obscure leftists and they makes it out to seem like the whole world stopped being marxist Leninist in 1956.

The tankie thing is out of control. If you go anywhere on social media and say hey, maybe we should take another look at our support for "moderate rebels" in Syria or the excessive build up of nuclear armed militaries in the Indo pacific you are a tankie because... The same reason as social democrats? Because we think the state can solve contradiction?
