My partner struggles with depression and they tend to feel better just getting the basics of self care done, y'know, brushing teeth, showering, sleeping at the same time and waking up at the same time, eating regularly and eating enough. They aren't easy to do when you're feeling very down but doing the life need basics helps, I know how difficult it can be just making sure you stick to a sleep schedule and brush your teeth - but it does help, I've seen it work.
I know it's something we've all heard or read, but life isn't linear and neither is transitioning or passing or impulse-control or doing things like a career. It can be all over the place, you're always making progress though.
Your dream sounds nice, lets make a world where we all can live like that.
