I fucking love the Bass Pro Shop pyramid. Is there a more perfect symbol of the garbage disguised as opulence that makes up the US?

I’m on a road trip and actually spent a night in the Bass Pro Pyramid (it’s a 5 star hotel) last week AMA lol

So the hotel is literally built into the bass pro where the stadium seats used to be. We had a view overlooking the whole store and poorly taxidermied goats outside the balcony it was wild. The hotel room itself was basically like an extremely refined and fancy version of Bass Pro aesthetics. Oh yeah the rooms are literal log cabins built into the balconies.

was it worth it? Like, aren't 5 stars hotels like really expensive? For one night?

It was 100% worth it bc I had cash to burn. Got one of the cheapest rooms but had a sick view of the pyramid and unlimited access to the tallest free standing elevator in the US of A Edit: I’m also living out of my car at free campsites for 90% of the summer so I splurged a bit on a couple hotel stays

I honestly don’t know but I can tell you that it is mecca for white trash/redneck folks. I forgot to mention above, but there’s a rooftop bar that is STEAMPUNK AQUARIUM themed yall.

So it's like an avant-garde pyramid, that contains within a redneck swamp disneyland that is below a luxury steampunk themed restaurant? That's fucking wild lol

So in that case, this isn't that egregious. The building was a notoriously poor investment, but it's still unique and it's not like they're putting a privately owned building on there.

        Ahem Empire State and Chrysler

          Empire State

The amount they charge you to use the elevators is so fucking absurd.
