Yeah the hammer and sickle are pretty toxic for normies who associate it with totalitarianism whether we like it or not. Doesn't matter what the USSR was. The fact that anyone brings up a nonexistent country in attempt to radicalize anyone is just fighting the cold war propaganda. It's ultimately pointless.

Bruh, I'm fighting for whatever gets people moving left. I want conservatives to be where the Dems are and I want the Dems further left. I push social democracy, democratic socialism, anarchism, Leninism, Maoism etcs. Whatever they want to hear to move them left. Anything but what the libs are now. The conservatives have just about gone full fascist at this point. Even the military leaders had said they fought the same ideology in WWII and they even know what's ahead.

I think normalizing communist iconography is an important step towards mass adoption of leftist policies, people need to first understand that they’ve been lied to. (Not that this action was necessarily the best way to do that efficiently but tbh were all taking a shit post too seriously here). Changing people’s ideas about this requires speaking out about it. No one would have warmed up to saying socialism out loud in American politics if we always ceded ground in favor of optics. Blm wouldn’t be a thing if they did everything through accepted channels. We have to push back against that Cold War propaganda no matter what bc most westerners are already walking around with those brain worms and even if we work around them they’re gonna become a problem eventually, I think it’s good to pick away at it head on at least a bit

I doubt this does much to normalize Soviet icons than it just gets people to go "oh someone disgruntled put this image here for shock value, haha."

I was responding to their claim and thoughts about the toxicity of the hammer and sickle and stuff in general not necessarily defending this particular post.

Definitely think this is just a “disgruntled worker” thing for sure. The “let’s not talk about red scare propaganda” thing is just a common refrain I see around that I just was musing on
