This person is thinking of warfare in like pre-19th century terms. Because the US didn't lose any "home territory" or whatever then obviously it was just a stalemate. :cope: .
The Taliban don't win until they build a modern amphibious landing force, load it up with men and materiel, sail it across the Pacific, and occupy parts of the western US. Until then, and only then, they haven't technically won.

Even by the 19th century that kind of thinking was asinine. After all, by that logic, the US Revolutionary War was a stalemate.
