i would like this person to cite a single instance of Jeremy Corbyn being antisemitic
The response I've seen to this is that they'll post this twitter thread where it's a whole heap of petty bullshit which, together, is supposed to make the indubitable case that Corbyn hates jews. I don't have that link, because it was fucking stupid and a waste of time, but I recall the first few examples being shit like not calling somebody on their birthday or some shit, not wearing some fucking brooch, just petty shit like that (which of course suggests substantive examples were, uh, lacking). Ironically a perfect example of a "gish-gallop" as liberals would say.
- EDIT: there was some british politician or public figure who said (paraphrasing) "find me one thing Jeremy Corbyn has said about Jews that's on par with anything Boris Johnson has said about muslims or immigrants." That sums up my attitude on these turds crying bigotry about Corbyn.
wait, painting the star of david on things in public is anti-semitism? I would have assumed a jew did it. im so confused
I was as confused as you. I think she means that putting it on a trash can is associating Judaism with trash?
Yeah, when I see the circle-A symbol graffiti'd on a trash can, I shake my fist in the air and mumble about those goddamn tankies. Always calling us anarchists trash :angry-hex:
that's a bit different. being trash is part of the brand :possum-mama::anarchy:
Yeah once that occurred to me it seemed depressingly plausible, hence my decision to make the comment.
but SIX MONTHS LATER a guy who supports palestine was elected labor leader in the same country! you call that a coincidence?
Calling it now, it was an 11 year old trying to draw a pentagram
Not only is it antisemitism, it is also anti-zionist which is even worse.
It's wild how they are still after jezza even now. Didn't a leak of internal documents show that 99% of the complaints against Corbyn were made by a single person in the tory party, or something along those lines?
looking for the citation, but there just some wild stuff out there:
Pompeo responded, “It could be that Mr. Corbyn manages to run the gauntlet and get elected. It’s possible. You should know, we won’t wait for him to do those things to begin to push back. We will do our level best… It’s too risky and too important and too hard once it’s already happened.”
I could be misremembering but I'm fairly sure Pompeo literally implied that he'd send Operators to assassinate Corbyn if he ever got elected
