Good for the IC, what will be done regarding the DSA affiliated (and helped to be elected) politicians that will vote for the sanctions and will agree with the narrative against nicaragua and propagate it. What actual positive influence or pretence of accountability can the 100k member DSA exert on that front or will try to outside of a based decleration from the IC
Every DSA rep in Congress voted against the RENACER Act actually. About 35 people in congress voted against it. I think we're trying to more build broader consensus in the org for staunch anti-imperialism and anti sanctions work, which if enough people do will influence our electeds more too. I think for example DSA wont endorse Bowman again cause of his failures regarding Palestine and BDS. Not much to do really other than build internal cohesion and political education in the org and continue to grow, cause its not like anyone in congress really depends on us to get elected, so our influence is often tangential at best.

Thats good to hear. Looking at the overwhelmingly safe results in the vote it seems like there was no big coercion party wide in the dems for YES , seeing even non socdem people not voting yes, so its good that they were able to stick to their NO in this case. The trickier votes and decisions from the DSA's part will probably be in "coerced" member's bad votes in tighter majorities
