It is important to underscore that the commission of genocide has nothing to do with the number of civilian casualties; the key element of the crime is the need to possess relevant “intent.” Whatever criticism one may have of Israeli policies or Israel Defense Forces (IDF) actions in Gaza, Israel is not seeking to destroy the Palestinian people, whether in whole, in part, or in any manner.

Israel says they're not doing a genocide so that means it's not a genocide. Also Hamas is totally doing a genocide even though they never claimed they were, just look at their actions

There's been enough members of the Israeli state that have expressed a very clear intent.
But yeah, The Hill seems to be implying that the massive civilian casualties are ok because "it's not genocide".
Do they really think all of the bombs going off are on accident? If so, perhaps one should question whether giving so many rockets to irresponsible military organizations like the IDF.
