Is it happening or not

No, but the propaganda machine's wheels are gradually turning from "invasion imminent, any day now" to "this is the invasion we warned you about". Never mind that the US was hyping this up like it was gonna be Operation Bagration II, they're hoping you forget about that.

Yeah, exactly. Someone on Twitter said this is basically Russia doing a Kosovo and I think that comparison is apt.

Russia is only following the precedents set in place years ago by the US and NATO: invading countries to "protect" separatist minorities and secure their independence like in Serbia and Syria; and manufacturing atrocity propaganda to justify invading other countries to "protect human rights" like in Iraq and Libya.

You don't even have to be a Putin simp to make a very strong historical argument that three decades of triumphalist unilateralist US foreign policy has made this bed and now the world has to lie in it. But no liberal will listen to it for one second.

Russian troops are in the borders of what every country except Russia considers Ukraine
they're there to support the separatist movements in those regions against Ukraine rolling over them
Russia using them as a foothold to invade Ukraine properly is possible but very unlikely
as far as i have heard/can work out anyway
as always, the us and allies should keep their nose out of their business, but that should go without saying

Seperatist movement heavily supported by Russia. To keep Ukraine in their SoI. NATO wants Ukraine in theirs, doing a hecking imperialism. The Ukrainians? Eh who cares, all those people are now pawns in geopolitics. :un-cool:

yeah, ultimately the only people i "support" (as ridiculous as it is to say that when i can do literally nothing) are the civilians caught in the crossfire

Well, ideally, i only support the working class, and ideally, NATO stops existing tomorrow. Communism implemented globally the day after.

Realpolitik hours, I resist NATO imperialism, and wish that the Russian oligarchs have now secured the future for Ukraine they want, preventing NATO expansion, and cease combat before it starts. Also realpolitik, I hope Kissinger slips on a banana peel.
