ig this is what I'm doing tonight lol. Not even from the US, God bless the internet.

So, I don't quite follow what's happening here.

The only source for this (see also, hexbear post ) is Campus Reform* and their source for it is the UoF's director of strategic communications, Hessy Fernandez**, who supposedly told them . Also another dude from the strategic communications reportedly told Newsweek the same, word-for word . Neither the university, nor uni library, has said shit on this matter, not on their sites or social media accounts.

She also reportedly told CR (why them??) that only the Karl Marx plaque was removed from the West library study rooms, all others remain. Hessy Fernandez has privated her twitter. So I can't verify. But, looking up the room names in the reservation forms online, yup, the only room without a name is room 229 , which used to be named the Karl Marx study room .

Soo... I asked the librarians about the plaque, via the magic of the internet. Yeah, not surprised John ain't touching that shit with a 10 foot pole. He redirected me to their director of communications, who will either explain, or redirect me to her higher-up.

Will update when the director of communications has responded to my email. Also CC'ing her boss, who John mentioned - might help motivate her to reply. She better anyway, she's paid 60k a year for communications. Let's hope she doesn't notice i'm ESL lol

*not linking, dogshit reactionaries anyway. ( receives 2 million a year from Leadership institute , which in turn is fully funded by conservative capital funds, and yes, the Koch Institute too),

**(Cuban American btw lmaooo , which some have pointed out )

Nice work! Yeah, Campus Reform is one of those sites that collects stories of "communist infiltration" into universities. There was one time (not sure if they still do it) where they offered bounties for videos of "Liberal professors" doing cultural marxism or w/e.

I have a suspicion that someone from the site might have directly suggested to someone in the university to remove the plaque just to make it into a story to report on.
