"Zelensky shouldn't surrender, Ukraine will win, democracy and freedom is at stake!"

Europeans about to freeze in the coming winter after barely affording to buy food for the past 3 months. :so-true:

Russians frustrated for taking only 20% of Ukraine so far with decreasing inflation and growing trade with China and other countries.:wojak-nooo:

"growing trade with China and other countries" what are they gonna trade lol. Production in the country for a numerous amount of sectors has dropped an insane amount.

I'll give you one chance to prove you are not here to troll.

China-Russia trade up 28.9% in Jan-May; further growth expected

According to data released by China's General Administration of Customs, China-Russia bilateral trade stood at $65.81 billion in the first five months, up 28.9 percent on a yearly basis. The growth rate accelerated from 25.9 percent seen in the January-April period.

In the first five months, China's imports from Russia in US dollar terms grew 46.5 percent from a year earlier, accelerating from 37.8 percent in the first four months. But export growth fell from 11.3 percent in the first four months to 7.2 percent.

Experts noted that the trade growth comes as Russia accelerates the shift of its economic pivot to Asia amid escalating sanctions from the West.

Russia's "turn to the East" has been underway for around a decade and accelerated due to the Western sanctions, Li Xin, director of the Institute for Eurasian Studies at the Shanghai University of Political Science and Law, told the Global Times on Thursday.

Faced with Western sanctions, Russia has turned to the Asia-Pacific region, in this process, China might be its main target due to China's massive market, Li said, noting that the products traded between China and Russia have become increasingly diverse and complementary.

Yeah now look at the effects that sanctions have had on the export of gas and oil. There aren't many ways to transfer it via pipelines into Asia at this moment. European countries are moving away from importing energy from russia at a fast rate while export to the country has also been killed thanks to sanctions. This while Putin and Jeltsin did everything in their power to open up the economy for western companies. Shortages of resources killed vehicle production in Russia, there are shortages of food and other products in Russian supermarkets and the Ruble is surviving by a thread now that Europe tries to be independent from Russian energy sources. The already stagnating population in the country is now getting decimated on the ukrainian frontlines which will create even more labor shortages.

It probably would have helped more if Ukraine didn't spend the last 8 years bombarding the Donbass, but I get it, literally every single one of us has been there: sometimes you aim your artillery batteries into rebel cities and sometimes it kills a bunch of people, and you keep doing it on accident, repeatedly, every month, for nearly a decade.

I have great news for you: they started on February 24th, and the West is largely stagnating or in recession. However, I'm sure Putler was so fucking owned when he heard that Finland and Sweden, two countries that were definitely not completely cooperative and on board with NATO before this point, have joined them. What a titanic change to the geopolitical situation.

NATO will be able to station troops and headquarters everywhere around the border in Finland. Military budgets for NATO and EU have increased by huge margins and the EU has been it's most united since years. These aren't good things fuck EU and fuck NATO but ignoring that this invasion has strengthened western collaboration while being able to make a fist against countries oppossing (like Hungary) is just you being blinded by propaganda.

If NATO and Russia actually go to war then very soon we won't be able to care about anything because we will all be shadows on the wall, my guy. It only matters in terms of where NATO can exert anti-Russian economic pressure, such as they could in Ukraine, where their pipelines run through. Finland wasn't exactly a battleground of Russian vs Western politics and leaders.

But Zelensky should have surrendered (rather, negotiated a diplomatic settlement) by now, the Ukrainian negotiating position is getting weaker and weaker as time goes on. They’re going to lose much more (not to mention all the lives lost) by virtue of not having had any interest in peace talks.

      • Maagdenmepper [he/him]

The option for peace talks were only available to Ukraine when it's position was much weaker in the war. Negotiating for halting hostilities would've most likely ended in southern ukraine being handed to Russia. This is also a scenario where Russia would've kept it's promises which history has shown is a rarity when it comes to Ukraine.

when it’s Position was much weaker

There was no such time, it’s weakest position is today, at least until tomorrow. Do you not understand that Ukraine is badly losing or what? The Donbass is now never going to be a part of Ukraine again, and if they keep it up and refuse peace talks they’re going to lose their whole coastline.

We just need to make them feel shame for espousing other people's stupid ideas and then encourage them to look deeper. You wouldn't get mad at a child for not knowing something they were never taught. If they refuse to look into the material situation more closely and repeat lies even when they are debunked then we should ban them. We need to remember that many liberals are just a kick and a push from realizing the truth.

I don't want to defend Zelensky, I have met many Ukrainian people though both when visiting the vacation several years back and now with many of them being refugees here in the Netherlands. Most of these people truly were hoping that their country could've been autonomous from Russian influence. They have already fought for their independence many times in history and are rightly afraid that if Ukraine surrenders the country will reverse it's developments on humanitarian progress and opportunities for future generations. Before you start about how Ukraine is also racist that it's corrupt etc etc, yeah everyone knows that especially the Ukrainians I spoke to. The fact that they are aware of it shows that the country can improve and at the very least do better in these regards then when it was a vassal state of Russia.

We are not engaged in this war but Russia is winning. Zelenskyy and his imperial handlers are responsible for over 10 thousand civilian deaths and the deaths of even more conscripted men. If he had surrendered in the first 2 weeks (or just followed through with one of the 2 Minsk agreements that Ukraine agreed to) the conscripts and more than half those civilians would still be alive.

If you aren't a fed you are an idiot for spreading their stupid ideas without critically examining the material conditions and you aren't even getting paid.

Why do you think I don't critically examine the Ukrainian side? I don't care about the Ukranian government, I care about my Ukrainian dishwaser at my job who worked for a corrupt mining company barely making enough money so his daughter could go study in Kyiv only for the war to destroy their dreams. Nationalism is a disease but every Ukrainian that I've spoken to isn't driven by some crackpot nazism ideology that the Ukrainian population will rule the world but that they want to give themselves the chance of a better life away from a govenrment steered by Russian puppets. I'm glad most of Azov is buried under Mariupol, I'm angered the Ukraine MOD denies responsibility for war crimes acted out in the east. But seeing how the Ukrainian people fight tooth and nail against a garbage imperialistic army like Russia to save itself from opression I can't deny I'm still glad Zelensky chose for his ego and didn't surrender.

Western Ukraine might not all be crackpot Nazis but there is significant support of their ideals at a degree less than genocide. For every person that tells a racist joke there are 10 racists who laugh. For every racist that will commit a hate crime there are a 100 racists who are happy when they hear of it. For every Nazi that will murder a child? Ukraine is a nation with a dozen Neo-Nazi paramilitary groups with a combined membership in the 10s of thousands, a nation where there are no repercussions for the murder of peaceful protesters and children. They may not think they support full on nazism but they would rather accept a nazi leader than one who wants to do business with Russia. What do you call 3 nazis and a liberal sitting at the same table? 4 nazis sitting at a table.

Not caring about the government of Ukraine makes you part of the problem. The Ukraine government are the ones who let the Corrupt Miners abuse people. They are the ones giving guns to nazis who then go on to murder children in Donbas.

The Ukrainian people are not fighting tooth and nail against imperialism. Russia isn't trying to take all of Ukraine. They are trying to free the LPR and DPR from being murdered by nazis. They are using force because every peaceful agreement to end the war was ignored by the Ukraine government after they signed it. The Nazis are the only ones willingly standing up to Russia. The rest are being forced to fight with a Nazi's gun in their back and lies about the "orcish hoard" raping babies in their ears.

Western Ukrainians did nothing to stop the war or to stop the rise of Nazism around them. They voted for a clown who told lies that he would end the war when it was easy to see the same man bankrolling zelenskyy was the same man bankrolling Azov.

Zelenskyy didn't choose his ego. He chose to get paid (and not get killed by his "friends") You saying you are glad Zelenskyy didn't surrender is you being glad for every innocent person's death, for every destroyed home. You are not a idiot. you are a monster.

How many members do you seriously believe Azov has? Or any neo-nazi para military group in Ukraine? I've spoken to people who are in contact with anarchist groups in the country who say there weren't that many of them before the war except in Mariupol and that now most of them are dead anyways. I don't care about the Ukrainian government because of the reasons you mentioned and it's why I want the country to keep it's independence. Remember Ukraine became corrupt under the Russian sphere of influence (not a suprise since Russia is corrupt to the bone itself) the years leading up to the invasion most Nazis were also already been kicked out of government positions making it even more stupid to claim it's a country run by Nazis. You either are completely fried by Russian propaganda that you seriously believe the Russians are only facing opposition by nazis or people being forced to fight by nazis when Russia has now given groups like Wagner leading command roles in their offensive. Why are regions like Kherson, Svierodonetsk or Melitopol not celebrating being captured by Russians if they truly believe they're being liberated from Nazism? Read just any eye witness account from Ukrainians that live in either Russian occupied or formerly Russian occupied regions and see how they suffered. And before you start rambling about how those people are nazis too why the fuck did Russia decide to only kill civilians that are nazis while murdering the rest of them.

Way to hit those nazi supporter talking points. You even got them in the right order. Where'd you get your training, Reddit or Elgin? I swear I (with no experience in the field) could make a chat bot in an afternoon that would spit out 10 versions of this same rant.

Azov claimed to have 10k in 2018. FBI estimates Azov trained 17000 neo-nazis from over 50 countries between 2016 and 2021. The Christchurch massacre chud was one of them.

Ukraine became corrupt under the Russian sphere of influence.

Ukraine has been corrupt since 1991 when it gained independence. It was created by a Russian puppet of america who chopped up and sold the USSR to Oligarchs. Sometimes the corrupt Ukrainians work with Russia sometimes with the west. The nazis were only given free reign by western friendly Ukrainian kleptocrats. All of Russia's corruption comes from Russia becoming a neo-liberal kleptocracy in an attempt to appease the USA. Corruption is a side effect of working with the USA.

most Nazis were also already been kicked out of government positions

That's just not true. I cant find a single instance of a Ukrainian MP with Nazi ties being removed from government since 2014. There are still many nazis in office including the minister of defence who tweeted "they arent even slavs we will kill all the orcs" in February. Ukraine has however banned tons of leftist parties including a couple with significant elected representation.

Russia has now given groups like Wagner leading command roles

Wagner PMC is a mercenary group and doesn't have a united ideology other than getting paid. The photo with nazi tattoos that some think is Wagner's leader is unverified. The only verified photo of Wagner's leader in the last 20 years is really poor quality.

If you want videos of Ukrainians welcoming Russian troops Patrick Lancaster has a dozen. I'll assume you are asking about Bucha in the last rambling sentences and return with a question of my own. If Russia really did kill all those civilians why did the UK block Russia's attempt to have the UN investigate the massacre right after it happened? Why would Russia Push for an investigation of its own war crimes? There is video of Ukrainians forces retaking Bucha and one soldier says "This one has a white arm band can I shoot him?" the soldier on camera says "yeah" and then there are gun shots.

Russia has killed civilians but it is quite obvious from the civilian casualty reports that they are going above and beyond any other military in history to avoid civilian casualties. The UN reported almost 3 times the civilian casualties per capita in the first 2 months in the Iraq war than in the entirety of the Special military operation in Ukraine to date. That is happening in a Nation where UN inspectors are welcomed by locals not shot at them and with all the advances in technology in the last 20 years (drones satellites and cell phones make finding casualties way easier).
