gcj post making fun of this man

Americans have a deep-seated deranged longing to be in a situation where absolute brutality can be hypothetically justified. Self-defense violence fantasies continue to be unhinged. There’s a shitload of supportive comments in the AMA too.

U really think the death penalty is appropriate for a smash and grab robbery? Nobody's life was in danger. This was just a $100 loss, which would be covered by insurance in any case. Even if it wasn't, seriously what business can't absorb that kind of loss? If you can't you shouldn't be open in the first place. If it's less than $950 it's not even a prosecutable crime in civilized jurisdictions.

If you jump over the counter I’m assuming you’re going to kill me.

        OK boomer.

There was a giant gap between the shop owner and the thief before he lunged for the first stab. He wasn't realistically in any danger at that point and easily could have backed off. This is hardly a justifiable self-defence even without the clear intent to keep stabbing until the guy is dead.

Yes, I said the same thing in the second part of my post

My main issue here is: why are you playing some weird two-step game here, where you admit that this was not at all a legitimate use of force in the name of self-defense, then also make excuses for the guy doing it? Or talk some weird shit about how "If anyone steps to me, I'll put that punk down in two seconds."

It just feels like you're givin' off the same energy as the guy with the " 'Within the Law' Could Cost me my Life. No Lives Matter." bumper-stickers that we had posted on here earlier this week, and I don't understand why you think saying any of this is necessary in this situation.

You’re accusing me of caring about property when I’m talking about my physical safety

            Whatever you say, boomer.
