In unrelated news, Openfortress and TF2classic have been publicly defying Valve's cease and desist for using leaked Source code because the company is completely ignoring them.
The initial c&d included an offer to distribute on steam. Of course Valve never followed up on this, probably because they know full well that platforming actively updated mods of their stale gachapon could legitimately upset TF2's economyplayerbase.
The devs took advantage of valve time by emailing them something along the lines of "we're reopening downloads unless you say otherwise" knowing full well they'd just get ignored again.
It's been almost 3 months and the downloads are still up. And valve STILL hasn't responded to them.
I can only assume that Valve knows that going full Nintendo on their asses will result in a streisand effect, so instead they're trying to ride the #savetf2 wave by hiring a singular coder to fix decade-old visual bugs.
