The cope from libs about stuff like this is hilarious. I saw someone in the comments on ig who was like “I seriously doubt that.” It’s only gonna get worse lol
one guy are twitter said that Cuba is now "going woke" to get billions in aid money from the American government (I guess because they are both communist dictatorships because Brandon??). The Americans' responses have been nuts
Our planet is going to burn and Cuba will say so long and thanks for all the fish.
:wojak-nooo:: "Nooo! That's wokeness! How DARE a non-western country not have American standards!?! Nooo! Kindness is icky, true cultural superiority comes from being warlike savages! Noooooo!"
KKKrackkkas are IRL orcs.
Hahahahahahahaha the brainworms are terminal. I don’t even know where to begin with that
I was on Twitter watching all of Amerikkka cry like the bitches they are about Cuba having respect for others.
:diaz-canel-troll: Let's not only give gays marriage equality, let's also have an open dialogue across all of society that massively reduces the residual queerphobia American evangelicals are stoking all across LatAm. Oh, and give trans people free healthca - nah, wait, we already did that one!
:liberalism: This is a cynical power-grab move by an authoritarian government. BTW, let's postpone protecting LGBT rights so we can use it for blackmailing our voters while the opposition thinks aloud about murdering them.
wow he managed to clear the bar that obama buried 10 km underground.
Damn red fash tankies and their checks notes.....acceptance of human rights.
I've said it before and I'll say it again: Cuba is the one beacon of hope in hellworld where the rest of the world is becoming William Pierce's wet dream.
its not unprecedented for cuba
theyve done this before
their democracy is robust
theyve done this before
What have they done before that resembles this?
They updated the constitution a few years ago and that requires a referendum like this (on top of the community level meetings to decide what changes to the constitution should be made)
This electoral process happens for many things. Like modifying their constitution. For instance, 3 years ago would be the last time something like this happened.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2019_Cuban_constitutional_referendum
of course, but what have they voted to do all these years? obviously the west would never honestly cover them doing something good and no pablo cockerspaniel so the accurate coverage is probably not accessible to me or the other person
cuba does something good yet it’s being called an “unprecedented democratic exercise”. yet another example of libs trying to make cuba look bad
According to the article, the term "unprecedented democratic exercise" comes from The People's Dispatch, which appears to be a leftist news outlet. When they call it "unprecedented", they mean "this was one of the most democratic initiatives ever carried out", not that Cuba is undemocratic normally.
:the-democrat: this is only a way for a dictatorship to attempt a rebranding. Anyways homos, we're postponing ensuring your rights, so you better vote for us
Frequent democratic participation in decisions, especially on a local level, and being able to recall corrupt and/or incompetent politicians = brutal communist authoritarian dictatorship regime
Choose between one of two ninety-year-old imperialists once every four years, if you're even able to vote at all = vibrant free-market democracy
