Another pube-faced chud with the same prepackaged ideology, and yet it is so on the nose it feels like a bit (it's not :agony-shivering:)

as a 40s white guy with a vasectomy, there's a lot carrying us along that is imperceptible until one turns against it.

it's true that society is mostly tuned into policing womens' bodies with state power and informal social pressure, but when I got snipped in my late 30s I got a lot of pushback from people I never would have expected to even have an opinion about my fertility, let alone feel strongly enough to confront me about it.

it's been implied that I am less of a man now that I can't get anyone pregnant, that I have been "neutered", that it is a low-T move, also feminine, and even gay (which is the most amusing).

people (white people, generally men but not always) who know nothing of me, my situation or motivation feel threatened by my choice and lash out. it's not everybody or even most. It's a small minority, but they make their feelings known without any invitation.

        The duality of man:

The gayest thing you can do is have a kid, so you need a tactical daiper bag.

The gayest thing you can do is stop yourself from having a kid while having sex.

It's fucking mind boggling the gender ideology at work there.

So far I haven't had much pushback, but god, comrade, your post made me sad :soviet-heart:

Dumb guy science is the best. It has no impact on sex hormones or sex function. Those same chuds are going to become diehard libertarians the moment they have to pay child support.

less often now that COVID killed parties. but i would volunteer it when discussions were about birth control methods in general or family planning. once, I had a friend who was of the opinion that biological children happen due entirely to fate. he said this to me as though it was the sage wisdom he had earned over 2 divorces and raising 2 kids in a relationship he feels affords him no agency. I explained that I didn't agree and why. guy could not wrap his head around what I had done.

when viewed in the context of how abysmal sex education is in the US, I shouldn't have been too surprised that many people do not fundamentally understand the basic mechanics of human reproduction.

As someone who plans on getting a vasectomy, what are the medical concerns? Is it just potential complications, or do they do bad shit years down the line?

The chance that your kid will be the same ideology as you is about the same chance you get to convince some rando off the street of having the same ideology as you.

that's not even a little bit true. the children of disinterested academics going on to follow their material interests is not a representative sample

Huh only if instead of spending 16-20 years together raising him and influencing his views you just talk to him once a day when walking home from work. If that is your definition of parenting then yes maybe.

You can argue maybe you can't guarantee it, but "same chance", please god no lol. Family and parenting are precursors to ideology, I'm pretty sure most American leftists would consider themselves lucky if they even manage to ever become a leftist despite their piece of shit boomer chud parents, it is a huge effect on ideology.

They don't want the problem solved. They want there to be abortions so they can flip out about something.

they don't consider this to be the problem. They consider the problem to be not enough people having kids

While I have no plans on getting one I also don't see any reason to be and insecure jerk to anyone who does choose to do so

My only real problem with vasectomy is that the guys who need them the most, guys who should never have children, will almost never get one
