October 18th's update is here! TLDR? Here's the summary!
Next update will be next Friday, but I'll be poking around the thread during that time. Next thread will go up on Monday like usual.
Links and Stuff
Examples of Ukrainian Nazis and fascists, for the “buh Zeleski is a jew?!?!” people.
Examples of racism/euro-centrism during the Russia-Ukraine conflict
Add to the above list if you can, thank you.
Resources For Understanding The War Beyond The Bulletins
Defense Politics Asia's youtube channel and their map, who is an independent youtuber with a mostly neutral viewpoint.
Moon of Alabama, which tends to have good analysis (though also a couple bad takes here and there)
Understanding War and the Saker: neo-conservative sources but their reporting of the war (so far) seems to line up with reality better than most liberal sources.
Alexander Mercouris, who does daily videos on the conflict and, unlike most western analysts, has some degree of understanding on how war works. He is a reactionary, however.
On the ground: Patrick Lancaster, an independent journalist reporting in the Ukrainian warzones.
Unedited videos of Russian/Ukrainian press conferences and speeches.
Telegram Channels
Again, CW for anti-LGBT and racist, sexist, etc speech, as well as combat footage.

Love the quotes around re-eductaed every time the term comes up in reference to socialist states. Like it's supposed to imply they...what, killed him? Tortured him? Just because that's what we do to people here doesn't make it a universal thing lol.

If America had access to Chinese brainwashing technology they would still resort to torture rather than re-education.
It would also be more humane just to torture people than to lay a ton of odious debt from their re-education on top of the one they already have from their education.

"re-educated" is a funny way to say "brought to heel and reminded who actually runs China".

Man. Imagine a government that has control over it's banks and financial systems. What a wild idea for the government to control the banks and not the banks control the government.
