But please, believe that :reddit-logo: gives a shit about Muslims in China.

For the record, conservatism is a problem for Muslim-majority nations (and organized religion tends to be a den of reaction in general). Of course, as with all things, the problem must be analyzed in a materialist lens, not an idealist one which thinks that Muslims are a hivemind who are hypnotized by the Quran to stab infidels.

Not to mention that Western Muslims tend to be more socially progressive on average (gee, I wonder why). The fact that the OP pointed them out in particular borders on incitement.

Bruh. America crank up on Uyghur while funding Islamic caliphate in Syria that recruit these Uyghur, so much that the American bomb them, it’s a f*cking joke

If it makes you feel better, the decline of western civilization doesn't mean the end of civilization everywhere. It just means that the great-grandchildren of the Roman Empire have finally been made to shut up and sit down.

Them and the Global South. Really pretty much all the parts of the world which aren't obsessed with beef.

Let's hope that the protests have a better result than the ones in Chile, in which their government did the equivalent of taunting someone with a dollar bill on a fishhook.

I mean, wouldn’t that also include Latin America?

The abused, bastard great-grandchildren of the Roman Empire but great-grandchildren all the same, if we’re going through with this analogy.

Civilizational decline is idealistic nonsense. Morals aren't changing and neither are people, we are just entering the peaks stages of the material contradictions of the system we are in. Everything will be over determined until it all suddenly isn't.

Edit: actually I think people are more moral today because of the material developments of society. Hell the fact I cam be an open trans woman om society is a massive improvement. Now the fash just want to kill me, 30 years ago they already would have. That's the hard part, as shity as it all feels we actually aren't loosing as bad as it seems; atleast when you subtract the whole climate bit, that is really super bad.e

Oh yes, but that's because the revolution failed and the ruling class reset the game in the 70's. Basically everything from 1917 to the late 80's was just a aberration to the historical trend of capital. Now we are playing out the story that was interrupted.

Ok slow down and pump the brakes on that. Human civilisations are absolutely evolving to fit their changing environments.

Half the joke of fascism is the "return to tradition" nonsense advocated by people who would be drawn and quartered by the ancestors they claim to emulate.

Yeah I meant that the state of society isn't being driven by some moral decline.

We’re entering the period of decadence and decline all civilizations go through, where morals, ethics, and values have been placed behind material wealth in terms of prioritization by society.

Isn't that how it's always been in the West? Or perhaps it would be just as accurate to say that acquiring material wealth is our highest moral value.
