I saw some bazinga brain on here a month or so ago post a book by an indigenous author that claimed invasive species are good actually, and that trying to say certain species “belong” in a certain region is xenophobia or something

Because tricking 4000 mink with no survival experience out into the wild just before a cold snap is "liberation." Don't get me wrong I'm no fan of factory farming but this is just stupid on several levels.

    • 99% of these mink will still die prematurely but only after significantly more suffering.
    • The farm's insurance will likely cover all the damages.
    • The farm or others will simply breed more mink to cover demand.
    • Due to decreased supply the price of mink will rise making it appear more lucrative.

This does significant damage to the animals that are being "liberated" while doing little to no damage to the producers and nothing to change the industry or market.

Slowly starving and freezing to death isn't much of an upgrade from death by exhaust with a minor chance of bludgeoning.

You seem to know very little about farming insurance or breeding livestock. There is nothing different between breeding stock and produce other than the whims of the farmer. Any costs of breeding stock as well as any lost income will be easily covered by insurance. All the equipment they have to replace will be replaced with top of the line equivalents.

Farming insurance is biased in favour of the farmer as much consumer insurance is in favor of the insurer. I've see entire crops planted with no intention of harvest because the insurance pay out was higher than they could get planting anything. I've seen farms double in size off an insurance pay out. Some farmers make more in a horrible year than when they have a good harvest.

        Pick one.

There are more than 2 choices and just because Voting is unlikely to cause real change doesn't mean leftist shouldn't vote. Leftist berate people who think their only political power is to vote. Voting will change more than this sort of reactionary adventurism. These "activists" have caused serious harm to the local ecosystem. Releasing 4000 medium sized carnivores into the wild is ecological terrorism. The winter bird population will be devastated and all the mink will still die frozen and hungry. This is like dropping a nuke on a friendly city because an enemy has a secret base where they are torturing POWs.

Its fucking stupid, its short sighted, destructive does nothing to stop the root cause and is even debatable whether the finished conditions are preferable for the ones supposedly being helped. The worst part is these stupid :lib:s could easily be convinced to see the real enemy is not a single factory farm or even the industry as a whole but capitalism in general. A good talk and some of them might be radicalized into baby communists others could be redirected against a strategically useful target that hurts the root cause or at the least shown the collateral damage their actions would cause.
