seriously, im not mad im seeing her, im just out of the loop :cat-confused:
Bocchi the Rock is a pretty adorable anime about a social anxious high school girl who, in an effort to make friends in middle school, learns to play the guitar. She never quite builds up the courage to make friends, however, and instead becomes a guitar goddess from constant practicing.
sounds cool! i hope to watch it then. again, i just wanted to know since i was confused at the sudden presence of her everywhere i went :stalin-approval:
I am watching now and enjoying. It reminds me, funnily enough, of Hidamari Sketch in that through all the cute/funny shenanigans, it never pretends making art is easy - it takes it deadly serious (like the bit with the artist in Kiki's Delivery Service as well), and that is why it's good.
it really blew up last season out of nowhere so I understand the confusion!!
Been meaning to check out the series since everyone keeps raving about it
It's pretty damn great, but then again I tend to like that kind of stuff anyways.
The main character of the last season anime "Bocchi the Rock". Basically K-On, but I actually like their music.
She became really popular because the anime is actually quite good and got popular through word-of-mouth, and because she's relatable to the average weeb. That is, has severe social anxiety.
I think the show's excellent unique visual gags helped it spread a lot early on. From reading the synopsis people didn't expect that level of quality!
Apart from what people said if you care about the industry it is also very noteworthy for confirming Cloverwork's return to form in a massive way now confirming that WEP was just an unfortunate incident.
Last year was good for Cloverworks- My Dress up Darling, Akebi's Sailor Uniform, SpyxFamily and then Bocchi the Rock!.
This video @pooh posted a couple days ago really goes deep into what makes the show so good, and why a lot of us really resonated with it.
