      its not a happy topic. each province/state has its own system, which means in rural areas they arent having a good time, whereas you can expect typical western style healthcare in the big cities. but the limitations are different in each area.

      there was a big campaign to centralize the system for this 5 year plan, they mentioned theyd make some progress on it towards the end of it. in this case china has not enough doctors for how big their population is, and similarly, not enough teachers. it is expected that this will level out now that their population is no longer ballooning

      so ultimately a lot of rural people have to rely on ancient home remedies. some of them do in fact work, though, and there is even an accreditation process for selling home remedies. doesnt stop many people from acting illegally, though
