This is the depth with which many liberals contend with feminism. Black women do cool things, they deserve more credit, so of course it makes sense to "uplift" by saying others should "be like them". End of thought.

I don't blame people (too much) for having a shallow engagement with ideas like this. What's troubling is that these are people on escalators to power, or already have power.
