Or is he just a reactionary who writes pretty? He seems really popular with Thiel-funded, Red Scare-adjacent faux e-intellectuals. I looked him up and all his controversies point to him being an awful dipshit. But apparently he's influential in the actual literary world, known for his accurate depictions of social alienation and capitalism.

Is there anything to gain from his work as a leftist and/or a general lover of fiction? Or should I steer clear?

      Totally get that. I just don't want to wind up buying a slightly better-edited version of The Turner Diaries. Purely reactionary art mostly sucks imo.
