CEO Carl Pei says remote work “is not compatible” with the company.

“I know this is a controversial decision that may not be a fit for everyone, and there are definitely companies out there that thrive in remote or hybrid setups,” he added. “But that’s not right for our type of business, and won’t help us fully realize our potential as a company.”

By comparison, Nothing’s demand for five-day office attendance may sting for employees who helped shape the company while embracing its founding work-from-home environment.

Besides calling people who want flexibility children, the company was founded as work from home even though that wasn't right for the type of company. Sounds like the CEO doesn't know how the company works.

"Nothing is requiring employees to be in the office five days a week"

Yes, you're right. There isn't a thing that requires this. You shouldn't be required to do so.

The problem with naming a company an idiotic name like "Nothing" is that it's so easy to make who's-on-first jokes.

Fair enough, I’ll show up at the office when they pay me for the time I just wasted commuting to the office. It’s my only ”asset” that is truly mine in this day and age.

Start the clock when you wake up and begin your morning routine. My getting dressed into anything other than pajamas is an exertion above that required to do my job from home. The one-hour commute? The hastily ingested bagel on the train? The running between stops so I don't miss my next train that's pulling into the station? All excess. Y'all are paying for that. If I have to show up to the office, I'm docking at least three hours from my day to make up for it.

This right here. This article title. This is why you don't name your company "Nothing".
