really disliked when he went there and did a speech like what the fuck charlie like

"Our knowledge has made us cynincal

      Our cleverness, hard and unkind

We think too much, and feel too little

More than machinery, we need humanity

More that cleverness, we need kindness and gentleness

Without these qualities life will be violent, and all will be lost"

there is no joke in here where is the punchline charlie wtf

This dumb fascist is just mad because he didn't ID with the disgusting pervert bigots in the first movie but he IDs with the disgusting pervert bigots in this one. That's the entirety of his criticism, and that's always what these "muh they got all POLITICAL" complaints boil down to: my dumb fascist ass is the object of ridicule and I don't like it.

it is never political when call of duty decides to add a high res reagan into their war crime game or say that the russians commited The Highway of Death and not you the us but when things that they don't agree get in there oh no politics

wtf is this guy really that dumb? I was like 12 when I saw Borat and even then I understood that he was acting as a mirror to let others paint themselves as fools.

I was young too and not even a leftist and it was absolutely clear to me that it was about exposing racists.

Matt Walsh watched a whole move about baiting bigots and thought the point was Sacha Baron Cohen's Kazakh impression.

Same vibes as the bluecheck who said Parasite was about a classless family ruining a respectable house

Seeing reports that the second borat is too political is rich. Like they conveniently ignored the scene where borat said homosexuals should be killed and Bush should nuclear bomb the Middle East to the cheering of conservatives.

It’s definitely fair to say his comedy has fallen off but his satire has always been pretty overt.

Isn't he the 'using emojis makes you a pussy' guy? Like where does your moral compass have to be to whine about little faces used in text messages and feel bad for a career asshole getting caught on film trying to fuck a 15 year-old?

what's weird to me about cohen's work is when cool people take him bad (nader/chomsky) and bad people take him cool (newt gingrich) . i'd have more examples but i haven't thought about it for a while. there are exceptions like ron paul is a bad person taking it bad and idk where giuliani is on that spectrum i think he's off the spectrum tbh

like newt has probably the same understanding that mr wash has here that borat is the punchline not the setup and like for example i'm brazillian and i watched this movie years ago as a teen not knowing a lot about america and then as an adult knowing a lot about it and both times it was a blast like the movie is funny you know schadenfreude is a thing like even without knowing that this movie is about american bigotry or in newt and wash cases being blissfully unaware that it is about them, we can find fun on the absurdity and on the discomfort that other people feel, but when it is our in group we start to get defensive because in a sense it is "you", nader and noam might just be boring and not like that because they think of themselves to highly to enjoy dumb movie or something like that

edit: i just thought about nader and chomsky a bit more and i think maybe if not the being boring thing it might because they are old so they have much more pride in america and like being american than the younger leftists and stuff like they might see it as their in-group also in a weird way being mocked

At no point was Borat the butt of the joke in the first movie. If that's what he took away from it he had the brain of a child when he watched it and just saw "haha clueless foreigner caricature" as the entire joke of the movie.
