Right wingers generally have a very low understanding of satire and irony (what most circlejerk subs engage in) due to believing in an ideology where everything must be taken at face value
Like 300 would have been a great movie had it been a satire of Pyrrhic victories. Especially since the society it was portraying was a pretty shitty one.
300 is, both in universe and in reality, a piece of Spartan war propaganda - and that's pretty interesting to think about at least.
reddit tends to be right wing so circlejerk subs have the opposite politics of the subs they're jerking
Eh, I wouldn't really call r/movies right wing. Maybe it's different on per movie basis.
MCJ is like 80% making fun of star wars and super hero movie subs which are more reactionary than r/movies
The left is getting better at comedy and its making the right nervous
I think there also was Japan circlejerk sub that was pretty fishy.
That's japancirclejerk. You're mostly right about what gets posted there, but the community is fairly racist and Islamophobic.
they ban ‘social jerking’ so you never really notice anything. It can be very funny though.
In general right wing dudes are the loudest ones in almost any subreddit, so circlejerk are the other way around.
Movies Circle Jerk is another one. I think it's because they are focused on making fun of nerds and nerds trend reactionary.
Irony requires self-awareness, which conservatives do not have.
transgender circlejerk is filled with transgender people who are excited for transgender genocide, actually
It was, that’s what made me unsub :agony-turbo:
Sure it was left wing by reddit standards but still super radlib, probably full of v*ushites by now
You probably did see it. There's a knee-jerk reaction trying to justify every little thing r/gaming is bitching about.
Well, opinions on r/gaming change, so r/gcj has to change what it's making fun of. Now it's CDPR, when people were red and nude about EA microtransactions, gamers bitching about loot boxes was a popular target of ridicule on gcj.
It gets really annoying to browse when the prevailing take on the gaming subs is good. I remember people hating Jason Shreier around the time that last of us 2 came out, simply because he made naughty dog look bad. Since they made a game that gamers freaked out about they are beyond reproach.
if microtransactions actually worked that way and tipped employees id be all for them
Yeah, you are right, but the sub also tends to jerk itself into saying that you need to be rich to play on PC and a certified professional to assemble one.
