    This was in norway, so might be different in other countries. But is was good. First year was a kind of general "mechanics" thing where we'd learn the basics of engine maintenance/repair, machining, welding, sheet metal work, etc. And some electronics as well. Second year we'd specialize, and I went for machining. Third year was a paid apprenticeship.

    I've genuinely enjoyed every job that this education has gotten me. We don't all have to be academics.

          yeah, I don't want to sit at a desk forever, I like to be active and doing things.

            There really is something about creating a physical product with your own hands and thinking "this is going to help someone" or "someone is going to enjoy this" or whatever.

            That shit is important. It matters.
