hey guys, I'm thinking of joining the DSA. The local chapter for my city seems pretty cool. My main issue with the DSA tho is obviously the fact that, at least on the national level they are (largely) succdems. :capitalist: I've heard the views vary vastly chapter to chapter, and some are more left-wing than others. Like i previously mentioned my DSA chapter seems pretty cool, and not too succdemmy, so yeah.
Plus I'm gonna join the PSL. But I would like to join the DSA because -
- They seem to actually be pretty good at organizing and getting things done
- They're pretty big
- Maybe I could radicalize the members or even work my way up and promote more actually communist policies
What ya'll think?
if your DSA chapter is cool go for it. Join any revolutionary caucuses in your chapter if they exist too.
They’re cool, it will get you connected with like minded folks in your area and you won’t have to go through an interview like PSL.
Pretty sure the bylaws of DSA prohibit that too, or at least they used to.
It depends on your local chapter. If it seems pretty cool you should at least check it out and see what kind of work they're doing and which committees you might want to participate in. The membership is only like $5 per month and you can always quit if it sucks.
BEEP BOOP COMRADE.
