sighs This particular issue is actually why I decided to postpone grad school, likely indefinitely. There is just something wrong with focusing on ethnography abroad when we barely do any ethnography at home, and what ethnography we do at home is focused on marginal communities. I understand that there is a need to understand the 'other' but it is clear we barely understand ourselves.
