Well, folks, it finally happened. The Lemmy is up. Been a difficult few weeks but we now have our Ground Zero from which we will bounce back. To anyone we've lost over the past few weeks, go and find them, and bring them here, and make them post about pig poop balls.

The year is 2032. Chapo.chat is about to have its first IPO, and the board of directors decides it needs to tidy up the forum’s public image in order to maximise their share price. They immediately move to ban all leftist sublemmies, all furry and anime porn subs, and set a side-wide automod to filter any criticism of Democratic presidential candidate Tucker Carlson and ban the poster. As race riots spread across America, the Hexbear logo is changed to all black in a show of solidarity with the protestors. Meanwhile, posting any comments about the protestors being correct to loot stores and do harm to the police is met with an immediate ban.

Transcription: Thanks for being a place where I can reply with images people don't need to click a link to see.

I'm gonna always post low effort drawings like it's 2007 4chan.

That'll be my thing so I stand out, like 7deadlyfetishes.

See, I really don't get it any more. The more I'm exposed to it, the more it just seems like infantile reaction without any thought behind it. It's like if someone decided they were completely ideologically opposed to the letter E. It's just nonsensical and knee-jerk. Having lived in three communes with actual anarchists IRL, it also seems to be a purely online phenomenon. Nobody's bitching about authoritarianism when it's time to build a shelter and we've only got one guy who knows what the fuck they're doing.

I think it's a community dynamics thing, where anarchists naturally want to be inclusive to all anarchist tendencies, but that includes a couple dumb ones that think that community and actually doing stuff are tyranny, and those make the place unfun until everyone cool leaves. Basically an anarchist forum should have a "no egoists" rule.

Yeah, there's no place like the old sub rn, every left sub is either just memes, just theory/news or is anti-ML.

It's not about the launch of a site, it's about the sight of a launch.
