The world is on fire and they are negotiating down the amount of water they will use.

The fire doesn't give a shit about the debt, or bipartisanship, or whatever the fuck.

Revolution when?

It's a lot cheaper to simply let the surplus population die than it is to keep them in prison. And its certainly a lot cheaper to let it happen and build a monument than it is to actually provide care.

so they are just assuming that a revolution/revolt just isn't going to happen? BLM last year was a weird one-off? even if I was a ruthless capitalist that didn't care about the deaths of millions, id still be cutting checks to the poors, just to keep them happy/content. i suppose they are building up their police forces, so maybe thats the plan. I suppose its working, but damn, just can't imagine this continuing for forever without people snapping

even if I was a ruthless capitalist that didn’t care about the deaths of millions, id still be cutting checks to the poors, just to keep them happy/content.

Capitalists may work together for their class interests, but they're decentralized enough that no one wants to individually foot the bill.

They will recognize the threat when there is a threat. Did the BLM protests threaten the position of capital?...no, just a few storefronts and small amount of weapons sales to police. Until their profits, safety, or position in society are threatened, they won't try to placate us.
