They pit us against each other in this arbitrary culture-war...the proprietary versus the open standards. And it's so wildly anti-consumer but we fall for it, year after year. Maybe one day Apple users will realize how anti-consumer it is, but I doubt it, they love the exclusivity of being half of the people with a smartpbone.

I went on vacation recently. Visited Houston, Austin, and Dallas by EV. I was, and still am, amazed that the giant gas stations along the highway (Buc-ees, Road Ranger) are still using Styrofoam cups at the soda fountain. I can't believe those are even still being made.

A lot of orgs (mine included) are sitting on large chunks of IPs they don't need (we have a /16 and several /24s) because they adopted early, got an ASN and prefix assigned by ARIN, and their addressing scheme is now so disjointed and scattered that they can't sell off anything bigger than a /22, and that makes setting up BGP a pain. Juice ain't worth the squeeze.
