Wish being able to make trivial donations for good articles was easier. Would be nice to donate a buck on a single click of a button with no hassle. But I'm not going to spend like 15 minutes on each of dozens of sites when I read a good one.

A little niche I think crypto might be able to fill at some point. Just too low of adoption, no browser support, and currency fragmentation makes things way harder than they need to be.

I've generally been under the impression that my modern wasn't worth worrying about, since it's impossible to access via IP. Guess I have another thing to keep me awake at night.

One of the things I'll never understand was why the attacker was replaying my traffic? They were clearly in my network and could access everything without being detected, why replay all the HTTP requests? So odd.

It's a privilege escalation.

The vulnerability, tracked as CVE-2024-1086 and carrying a severity rating of 7.8 out of a possible 10, allows people who have already gained a foothold inside an affected system to escalate their system privileges. It’s the result of a use-after-free error, a class of vulnerability that occurs in software written in the C and C++ languages when a process continues to access a memory location after it has been freed or deallocated. Use-after-free vulnerabilities can result in remote code or privilege escalation.

A rolling release distro is basically a requirement for me. I abhor major release upgrades. They're usually labor intensive and often break things.
