This was solidified for me when I learned that a Firestone married into the Ford family (Firestone being a giant tire manufacturer, and Ford a giant auto manufacturer).

I don’t know if it was an old school “consolidating feudal domains” thing or if rich people only congregate amongst themselves and therefore wouldn’t even know where to find a poor to marry, but I still think it’s absolutely hilarious and revealing
