Last year, I wrote about how you can give new life to an old MacBook with Linux, specifically Elementary OS in that instance. Recently, I returned to that circa 2015 MacBook Air and discovered I had lost my login password. I downloaded the latest Elementary OS 5.1.7 Hera release and could not get the live boot to recognize my Broadcom 4360 wireless chipset.
uh got an m1 and kinda sad that i wont be able to do it
got it both to see how the thing works, and also wanted a unix like that i could use with my camera(and the battery life was too enticing, sorry rms)
It's gonna take a while for linux to work on m1. If you are looking for something new and enticing to try out then you might find this Chinese tablet interesting. It's the world's first linux tablet that you can use as a laptop and it supports Android apps. Here is a preview video. It isn't out yet but I've been following them and their OS
