No, That line wouldn’t square with “ghost city” narrative we were fed a few years ago.

The modern Chinese person in the mind of an American is definitely an urbanized one. But they spend every waking hour that they have in a Foxconn facility making iPhones. They are technologically advanced but only because they stole and reappropriated superior western tech which makes their end-product inferior.

They are still viewed as schemers: “What are they thinking behind those narrow eyes?” Likely looking to steal American trade secrets, or manipulate currency to supplant us.

Their military is completely disciplined, lock-stepped, 98% of Americans would not be able to distinguish a North Korean military parade with a Chinese military parade. The Chinese Navy has built islands the size of Cuba in order to claim land/oil rights in the South China Sea. China holds just as many nuclear weapons as America.

Hong Kong is the last bastion of freedom left in the Eastern world, direct descendants of Tank Man and the Tianeman martyrs.

The only thing stopping China from invading Taiwan is the awesome power of US Navy destroyers.

The Uyghur camps are exactly the same thing as Germany’s most atrocious death camps, and when America invades China and liberates the camps everyone will think we are heroes again and we’ll have made our World War II veteran grandfathers proud, even if they were never sent overseas because they had flat feet, or something.

The Chinese diet is disgusting, they eat dogs, bats, and pangolin regularly.

All Chinese people are atheists except for the persecuted Christian population.

I feel like it's more about painting Chinese people as both brainwashed and uncultured---making anonymous claims about Chinese tourists shitting in planter boxes in public, insinuating that they only approve of their government because of propaganda and censorship, and so on.

Fascism makes the enemy look simultaneously weak and strong. Jews are portrayed as both master infiltrators and clearly physically different than g*rmans. The chinese now are portrayed as highly industrious but very poor.
