When you tell people that contrary to the meme-level understanding in the west, the PRC is actually a bastion of human rights, they look at you as though you just killed someone. They don't seem to understand that human rights are more than just expression, they're also the right to life, food, etc. If a country brought more people out of poverty than the entire population of the US and EU combined, is that not an absolute human rights achievement?
