It's a boring but important locomotive. If you live in the United States, there's a very good chance that the railroad nearest to where you live has trains that look like this. It probably isn't a Dash 9-44CW, but ever since the Dash 9 was introduced in 1993 just about every mainline diesel locomotive made by GE looks like this. Today you are most likely to see a GE Evolution locomotive, which looks identical to the Dash 9 but has an engine that meets the current EPA standards. They're big, they're kinda ugly, and they do a lot of work hauling freight.
