      it's a tor website. When you access an .onion site through tor network, all traffic is encrypted end to end. It's a privacy rights thing for nerds. Many .onion sites also have a normally listed site.

    What’s the extra benefit for users when compared to visiting the normal url in the tor browser?

      I think I posted false info, very sry. Https traffic is tor-encrypted UNTIL it leaves the tor network to fetch your site; hidden service traffic is always encrypted. Also, V3 hidden services have really good encryption, it seems. I am not an expert (obviously)
