      I mean if they are ASICS is not that wasteful compared to the energy spent mining bitcoin, but if they're GPUs then yeah

          Bitcoin mining is exclusively done with ASICs now and has been since 2014 or so. It's mostly ETH that's at fault for the GPU shortage.

      What would they do with them? This hardware basically can't do anything but mine. If they sold it at auction, it would be used for more illegal crypto mining. These are chips that should never have been manufactured, the only thing to do with them is recycling.

          Yeah and power supplies... Recycle the Asics or whatever if at all possible.. Just seems excessively spiteful and wasteful. Ah well :shrug-outta-hecks:

      Right. Fuck the miners, but those could maybe be repurposed (although there are specific boards built to mine bitcoins so maybe not) or recycled at least.
