During the spring with the rains and snow melt the stream runs fast and few feet deep but the rest of the year it's only about a foot deep so I doubt I could do much more then run a few lights off it most of the time.
True but last i looked into it hydro even on a small scale is fairly expensive to set up the money would probably be spent on even more food security or just saved till I can afford the solar.
do you have enough running water for micro hydro power generation? a lil pelton wheel maybe?
