Expensive headphones are the definition of diminishing returns. If you need good audio quality for cheap, just get whatever Koss is offering below 40 dollars. Literally 1980s plastic build quality but the sound is great. Once you hit above 200ish bucks though it's all just "audiophiles" jerking each other off about frequency response graphs and "warmth".
That's pretty much what I've always thought about "audiophile" equipment, yup. My hearing isn't even good enough to pick up tiny differences like that and I doubt that most of these rich kids with their toys are any different. I'm not about to transfer all my music to lossless FLAC either, I got other things to do. But these low-end Sennheiser headphones are nice and I enjoy them :party-cat:
