I have a family member who was like that. Worked literally all the time, listened to sales training / self-help audiobooks on his commute, constantly "on his grind." Didn't make a difference; he lost like $500 on a bad investment and he had to go on food stamps a few years ago.
He's getting ready to buy a second house now. The difference? His multi-millionaire uncle gave him a busywork $100k salary job
...yeah... I wish people in the US would actually believe in systemic issues instead of just pretending they do when they're called out on it or want to seem educated. Like, class mobility is actually something sociologists and economists and shit measure, and consistently it is very low in the US.
