I personally want to buy a CD-player and a laptop with a DVD drive and start collecting CDs and DVDs again. I think that it's nice to own a physical copy of something. I also think this will make me listen to albums and watch movies more. I'm done with Netflix and Spotify since you don't own the media you consume and they can take it down anytime. But it's also nostalgia for me since DVDs and CDs were everywhere in my childhood and we went to the record store and the video store a lot.

But what do you think about it? And what do you think about CD vs Vinyl vs Cassette?

I prefer to own physical media and own a vinyl/book collection for several reasons:

    1. Internet can be unreliable and downloading these things takes too much space
    2. Sometimes Spotify/whoever doesn't have the album I want (for example, several Bob Dylan Bootleg Series volumes don't have full versions on Spotify and several albums from other artists like Ringo Starr and other albums from popular bands are missing)
    3. Like others in this thread have mentioned you don't "own" a video game/album/book/whatever unless you have a physical copy pretty much, if you're using it digitally it is stored on someone else's server and rights to use it can be revoked at any point
    4. I just think having a physical collection is kind of neat
