Two people killed in the accident. Seems to be that the battery actually malfunctions prior to the crash and then crashes into a tree. Car is completely engulfed in a battery fire within 3 minutes. Cells scattered around the scene.
This seems absolutely horrific.
Funny I never see car guys appear to defend elon muck and say any car would catch fire like that.
Looking it up, cars can catch fire due to oil leaking somewhere, an electrical wiring issue, nothing especially clear tbh. Oil can hit high high temperatures and catch fire. Your instinct is the fuel, but fuel is delivered to rails on the top of the engine by pressurized lines, but they dont spray everywhere in an accident. Those systems were actually designed not to cause a fire. Fuel isnt kept by the engine, it’s piped in from the back, and needs a pump to feed it out.
But we know what lithium does in water, even atmospheric water causes a reaction, but these guys REALLY try to defend :melon-musk:
Even if regular cars were combusting all the time, Teslas would still be extra bad because if the battery catches you only have about a minute to get out of the cab before you're dead. Meanwhile, the doors are incredibly difficult to open when the power fails.
The most efficient system, everyone!
If your car catches fire usually something was really wrong to begin with, unless you have a car known for exploding like any GM car with a 3800. Even then, it's pretty rare.
Tesla just sucks lol
It’s a little disappointing car guys arent out there trashing teslas, but they also kinda dont care about them?
They do lol
part of it is just reactionary "hell yeah bruther ICE" but they're genuinely shitty otherwise

They aren't a car guy then, lol.
Car guys never defend Teslas because Teslas are shitty cars. The closest thing to a redeeming quality they have is the ones that cost six figures can do a party trick where they launch insanely fast and then overheat.
