Just learned about this guy via a podcast.

i expect lots of these sorts of guys going forward, as material conditions get worse. pretty easy to do something big when you have nonthing left to lose

    You forgot to mention that the sewer line connection was going to cost about $75k to $100k because the city just wanted him to get connected and end the whole fiasco. This is insane considering that it cost $15k to just hook up and not even dig or pipe. The city was going to give him the bureaucratic part for free. This dude took the city and county to court for about eight years and spent roughly around $200k in lawyers. Also when he sold the property he moved his money around so that the city couldn’t go after his estate. So the city I lived in had to rebuild a city without any reimbursement from the chud who created the whole problem. And he did millions worth of damage. He even purposely destroyed the trees the city planted because other small business owners thought they took away from their businesses because reasons. Not to mention that he saw where his business was heading. Muffler shops were on a hard decline around the early 00’s because cars were becoming more complicated when it came to car exhaust systems.
