    People really have issue with that huh. Even when I was a chud, the Russian royal family being killed never seemed terribly unjustified; sure, killing the kids is bad, but the country was dying due in no small part to the incredible ineptitude of their leaders. Why so many people have this weird infatuation with them while attempting to make them sound almost like martyrs, I'll never know

      Because it's a highly effective way to demonize communists. "See, this is what happens as soon as commies have any power, they will up and murder families." It's not that royal family is being painted as martyrs for a cause, but as victims, examples of the inevitable results of communism gaining traction.

      i remember when i was 8 and learning about robespierre and the teachier was like 'oh the terror!' and i was like 'but that seems completely reasonable she just said let them eat cake the other page over lady'

      I used to feel bad about it, then I think of all the children who got murdered in pogroms that Tsar Nicolas signed off on. He was a murderous motherfucker
