Im not really knowledge about how nft/ block chain tech works but I'm currrious how you could disrupt this technology, maybe if I knew more about how they function this question may not make sense but here it goes..

Could you in theory develop a method to significantly slow or hinder the blockchain tech behind crypto currency, like corrupt the block chain slow it to the point of unusability, corrupt the block chain even?

Like anything else I guess, you could do some kind of DDoS against specific servers or somehow block related internet traffic. I guess the most viable thing to do would be attack the most centralized portions of it. You could try to put malicious code in open source mining software. You could DDoS or find vulnerabilities in bitcoin exchanges and things like that, where people actually exchange cryptocurrency for usable money. But attacking the distributed system itself probably won't get anywhere. You could maybe maliciously create servers that join the bitcoin mining network and try to fudge things up that way? But I'm not really knowledgeable about the actual protocol itself. So basically the same stuff that can be done with any internet system.

Just get ready to spend hundreds of billions on servers

You can't corrupt the blockchain. It's mathematically impossible.

You could spam it with dust transactions to slow it, but you'd be spending your own money on fees to do that.

Likewise a 51% attack is technically possible, but prohibitively expensive for good-sized blockchains.
