    He almost certainly at least met/spoke to agency people when he was overseas, and probably when he came back, just because he was in a place/situation where there was significant intelligence interest.

    But that doesn't mean he works for them.

        Yeah he mentioned the US liaisons taking him aside in Rojava and asking him if they had taught him to make bombs, hijack stuff, etc. Like I keep saying, it'd be like suspecting Stalin cause of Yalta
